The goal of the J.A. Price Agency, Inc. is to provide our clients with the best value for their premium dollar. This will be accomplished by maintaining a group of talented employees and excellent insurance companies that will provide service, stability, and competitive insurance products.


Jeff Olsen, AAI, President

Jeff began his insurance career in 1990 selling life insurance, annuities, and other financial products. He joined J. A. Price in 1994 as a commercial insurance producer advising a wide range of clients. He obtained the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designation in 1996. Jeff was promoted to Vice President in 1997 and became President and agency owner in 2006.

Jeff has remained committed to the independent agency system recognizing that gives J. A. Price the freedom of choice when it comes to negotiating the best coverage at the most reasonable premium for each client. Jeff and the entire staff at J. A. Price have built an agency that is large enough to offer the efficiencies and options of a larger conglomerate but small enough to focus on knowing each clients business and serving your interests and if they were our own.

Jeff is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN with a B. A. degree in Financial Economics. Jeff remains committed to managing complex emerging and mature technology, medical and health care clients.

Jeff was the 2012 recipient of the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agent & Broker / Trusted Choice Agent of the Year.

Jeff was recognized as an individual who is one of the true professionals in our business.

Erik Olsen, Vice President of Finance

Erik Olsen graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management. He worked for The Talus Group, Inc., a computer consulting firm, as a Bookkeeper until he joined J.A. Price Agency, Inc. in 1999 as Controller. Erik was promoted to Vice President of Finance in 2002 and became co-owner of the business with Jeff Olsen in 2006.

Erik also oversees the Human Resource responsibilities for the Agency which proudly notes a less than 5% employee turnover rate. For our partners and customers, this competitive advantage offers consistency and strong, long-term relationships. Our agency works at providing state of the art technologies in the insurance industry some of which include Zywave, Inc. and Vertafore, Inc. which allow us to offer our clients the best and most efficient service available.

For Erik, keeping up to date with the latest insurance management systems is paramount to providing the best service to customers and remaining excellent partners to insurance carriers.


Paul Nelson, Vice President of Marketing

Paul has been in the insurance industry since 2005, selling and servicing all lines of coverage. He transitioned into Commercial Lines exclusively in 2007, allowing him to gain broad experience and industry knowledge.  His experience has allowed him to develop, design, and implement competitive insurance placements for clients.

Paul joined the team at the J.A. Price Agency in 2019, as the Vice President of Marketing.  He brings 15+ years of industry experience to our talented team.  Paul prides himself in his attention to detail, building long-lasting customer relationships, successful carrier negotiations, and overall value for clients.
